Perhaps best known for their classic mid-century Eames Lounge Chair, Charles & Ray Eames (Eames Office) saw fiberglass as a way to reduce the high cost of designer office furniture. The chair was durable, yet soft to the touch, with the iconic curvilinear shapes that soon after became a staple of the Eames’ design.
